Wartburg students win ICMA awards

Waverly, IA (03/11/2024) — WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg College students and recent graduates were recognized for their work with student media at the annual Iowa College Media Association Awards.

KWAR, the student-run radio station, received the Audio Excellence of the Year Award.

Individual awards were given to the following students and recent graduates:

Lauren Ulveling received second place in Best Air Personality for radio, and second place in Best Video Newscast and third place in Best Short Film for video awards.

Ben Revier received first place in Best Podcast, second place in Best Show (Entertainment), and third place in Best Air Personality in radio. He also earned second place in Best Video Newscast and third place in Best Short Film for video awards.

Alyson Hasner received second place in Best Podcast, Audio Feature Package, and Best PSA in the audio category. She also earned third place in Best Promo.

Reagan Brooks received second place in Best Newscast.

Matthew Tudor received second place in Best Video News Programming and Best News Programming as well as third place in Best Newscast.

Zach Hiney received first place in Audio Feature Package, second place in Best Video Newscast, third place in Best Sports Broadcast, and an honorable mention in Best Video Sportscasting.

Henry Powers received second place in Best Video Sportscasting; third place in Best Sports Broadcast and Best News - Public Affairs and Sports Reporting Video Package; and an honorable mention in Best Video Sportscasting.

James Mossman received second place in Best Podcast; third place in Best Short Film; and an honorable mention in Best Long-Form Video Documentary.

Marina Fredregill received second place in Best Podcast.

Joey Goetz received second place in Best Video Newscast.

Mila Iushkova received second place in Best Video News Programming and an honorable mention in Best Long-Form Video Documentary.

Jobey Olson received second place in Best Video News Programming.

Olivia Foster received first place in Best Short Video Documentary.

Rachel Green received first place in Best Short Video Documentary.

Henry Hahn received first place in Best Short Video Documentary and third place in Best Short Film.

Ethan Shawgo received first place in Best Short Video Documentary and third place in Best Short Film.

Danika Rademacher received first place in Best Short Video Documentary.

Britta Williams received first place in Best Short Video Documentary.

Jenna White received an honorable mention Best Long-Form Video Documentary.

Grant Berends received an honorable mention in Best Long-Form Video Documentary.

Katie Claman received an honorable mention in Best Long-Form Video Documentary.

Eva Schoell received an honorable mention in Best Long-Form Video Documentary.

Tyler Johnson received third place in Best Short Film.

Kobe Schmuecker received third place in Best Short Film.
