Student organists share their talent at Wartburg's final Bach's Lunch of 2025-26

Waverly, IA (04/08/2026) — Six Wartburg College students will be the featured performers at the final Bach's Lunch organ series recital of the 2025-26 season Friday, April 10.

The free concert will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Wartburg Chapel. It will be preceded by a noon lunch and conversation with the students in the Chapel Commons. Those performing are:

Haley Hansen, a senior from Clarence, playing "Toccata in E Minor," by Johann Pachelbel.

Hannah Johnson, a senior from Aplington, playing "Preambule" by Louis Vierne.

Elijah McDonald, a junior from Alleman, playing "Marche-Sortie" by Theodore Dubois.

Hanna Langley, a senior from Cedar Rapids, playing "Fanfare in B-flat Major" by Charles Ore.

Arisa Suzuki, a junior from Japan, playing "Organ Sonata in G, K. 328" by Domenico Scarlatti.

Carter Horman, a sophomore from Lowden, Iowa, playing "Rubrics" by Dan Locklair.

The students are all taught by Karen Black, Rudi Inselmann Endowed Professor in Organ. She teaches organ and church music, music theory and aural skills; serves as organist for weekday chapel and other worship services; and conducts the Kantorei choral ensemble and Handbell Choir.

Bach's Lunch attendees are invited to bring during the preconcert talk.
