Wartburg College Alliance to host annual drag show May 14

Waverly, IA (05/06/2022) — Wartburg College Alliance will host its annual Drag Show on Saturday, May 14, in Neumann Auditorium.

The show, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is an annual fundraiser for Alliance, the college's LGBTQIA+ organization that provides a supportive and accepting environment for all students, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The all-ages show will include performances by professional kings and queens, as well as student and local amateur performers.

"I want to encourage community members to come see what we are all about. Wartburg Alliance has been a home to me and welcomed me the last few years! Having community members represented means so much to our exec team, and our organization as a whole," said Gabby Schwarting, Alliance co-president. "We hope to continue to be home to more students in the future, which is made possible with all of our community support."

Tickets to the show are free to the public. Donations will be accepted during the event to support the organization.
