Wartburg students to share heritage, talents during Culture Show
Waverly, IA (05/03/2023) — Wartburg College's International Club will showcase some of the many cultures represented on campus during the annual Culture Show celebration, May 6 at 6:30 p.m.
The Neumann Auditorium doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The show is free and open to the public, though donations will be accepted.
"Culture Show is back this year and aims to celebrate the beauty in our differences through a unique production of storytelling," said Naledi Moabelo, a senior from Mpumalanga in South Africa. "This year our performers will immerse the audience in a world of ubuntu ruled by the sun queen. Through dance and song, we will take the audience on an adventure that will move them. We hope everyone leaves the Culture Show with a piece of the world embedded in their soul. Let the adventure begin!"
The Wartburg College International Club has a rich history as one of the oldest and largest student organizations on campus, stretching back to 1954, when the college started actively recruiting students abroad. The club continues to highlight diversity by promoting better understanding between international and U.S. students with educational, cultural, social and recreational events for its members as well as the college and the Waverly community.
