Kathryn Chabal presents research at American Chemical Society conference

2016 Nov 15

Kathryn Chabal was one of two Wartburg College students who presented their research at the Midwestern Regional American Chemical Society Conference Oct. 26-28 in Manhattan, Kansas.

Chabal, a senior from Washington majoring in biochemistry, presented "Coordination Chemistry and Reactivity of Cobalt Complexes of tapa (tris(6-amino-2-pyridylmethyl)amine)." The research was done in conjunction with senior Caleb Milius and Matthew Zart, assistant professor of chemistry.

Their research is seeking a viable interface between biology and chemistry by using chemistry to mimic the way biology solves specific problems.
